【摘要】:Vaporpressureisafundamentalthermodynamicpropertyofaliquid.Vaporpressureandboilingtemperaturedataarerequiredformaterialsafetydatasheets(MSDS),theestimationofvolatileorganiccompounds(VOC),andotherneedsrelatedtoproductsafety.Vaporpressuresareimportantforpredictionofthetransportofachemicalintheenvironment;seeTestMethodE1194.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresfordeterminationofthevaporpressureofliquidsbyebulliometry(boilingpointmeasurements).Itisapplicabletopureliquidsandazeotropesthathaveanatmosphericboilingpointbetween285and575Kandthatcanbecondensedcompletelyandreturnedtotheebulliometerboiler,thatis,allmaterialsmustbecondensableattotalreflux.Liquidmixturesmaybestudiediftheydonotcontainnon-condensablecomponents.Liquidmixturesthatcontaintraceamountsofvolatilebutcompletelycondensablecomponentsmayalsobestudied,buttheywillproducevaporpressuredataofgreateruncertainty.Boilingpointtemperaturesaremeasuredatappliedpressuresof1.0to100kPa(7.5to760torr).1.2SIunitsarethestandard.1.3ThereisnoISOequivalenttothisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection.
