【摘要】:AccuracyinquantitativeX-rayspectrometricanalysisdependsuponadequateaccountingforinterelementeffectseitherthroughsamplepreparationorthroughmathematicalcorrectionprocedures,orboth.ThisguideisintendedtoserveasanintroductiontousersofX-rayfluorescencecorrectionmethods.Forthisreason,onlyselectedmathematicalmodelsforcorrectinginterelementeffectsarepresented.Thereaderisreferredtoseveraltextsforamorecomprehensivetreatmentofthesubject(2-7).1.1Thisguideisanintroductiontomathematicalproceduresforcorrectionofinterelement(matrix)effectsinquantitativeX-rayspectrometricanalysis.1.1.1Theproceduresdescribedcorrectonlyfortheinterelementeffect(s)arisingfromahomogeneouschemicalcompositionofthespecimen.Effectsrelatedtoeitherparticlesize,ormineralogicalormetallurgicalphasesinaspecimenarenottreated.1.1.2Theseproceduresapplytobothwavelengthandenergy-dispersiveX-rayspectrometrywherethespecimenisconsideredtobeinfinitelythick,flat,andhomogeneouswithrespecttothedepthofpenetrationoftheexcitingXrays(2-5).1.2Thisdocumentisnotintendedtobeacomprehensivetreatmentofthemanydifferenttechniquesemployedtocompensateforinterelementeffects.ConsultRefs()fordescriptionsofothercommonlyusedtechniquessuchasstandardaddition,internalstandardization,etc.
