【摘要】:ThispartofIEC61290appliestocommerciallyavailableopticalamplifiers(OAs)suchasopticalfibreamplifiers(OFAs),semiconductoropticalamplifiers(SOAs)andplanarwaveguideamplifiers(PWOAs)asclassifiedinIEC61292-3.Twoalternativesfordeterminingthesignal-spontaneousbeatnoisearepossible,namelytheASEdirectinterpolationtechnique(DI)andthepolarizationnullingwithinterpolationtechnique(PN).TheaccuracyoftheDItechniquewillsufferwhentheslopeoftheOAspectralASEcurvehaslargewavelengthdependence,asinthecaseofanOAwithaninternalnarrowbandASEsuppressingfilter.TheaccuracyoftheDItechniquedegradesathighinputpowerlevelduetothespontaneousemissionfromthelasersource(s).AnnexAprovidesguidanceonthelimitsofthistechniqueforhighinputpower.
